Equipment Room Readiness Guide

Urban equipment rooms fail miner deployments for predictable reasons: rail depth, breaker headroom, and exhaust recirculation. This guide collects the checklist our assessors use before every Rack Deployment Review.

Room Classification

Basement conversion: Shared ceiling voids, humidity swings, limited exhaust paths. Common in Songpa-gu residential blocks.

Corridor cabinet: Strict depth limits, door swing clearance critical. Common in Gangnam co-location corridors.

Garage or outbuilding: Often single-phase, weather-adjacent intake risks. Common in Seongnam and Yeongdeungpo suburbs.

Identify your type before selecting miner models. The same 0.08 TH/s unit may pass in a garage and fail in a corridor cabinet.

Physical Checklist

  • Rail depth measured (front ear to PSU rear)
  • Door swing clearance with mounted unit depth
  • Floor load verified for full row weight
  • Exhaust path documented to exterior or approved void
  • Intake path separated from exhaust at rear panel
  • Cable management without blocking intake faces

Electrical Checklist

  • Panel schedule copied and legible
  • Sustained headroom calculated with 10% correction factor
  • Inrush sequencing plan for rows above eight units
  • PDU specifications matched to planned draw
  • Spare breaker positions identified for sub-panel if needed

Thermal Checklist

  • Shelf spacing diagram with intake arrows marked
  • Upper-shelf intake temperature logged after six-hour burn-in
  • Shared void recirculation risk assessed
  • Seasonal humidity range noted (basement rooms)

Hash Rate Selection

For rooms under 30U with standard residential power, 0.05–0.07 TH/s units often maximize row count without panel upgrade. Higher per-unit hash rates reduce mounting positions and increase thermal density per shelf.

When to Request an Assessment

If two or more checklist items are unknown, schedule a Rack Deployment Review before placing hardware orders. Thermal and circuit mapping services address narrower gaps for operators with existing rows.
