The Problem Pattern

Upper-shelf miners draw intake air warmed by lower units. After four to six hours of operation, junction temperatures on shelves 5 and 6 climb above manufacturer thresholds even when ambient room temperature looks acceptable.

Low-Cost Corrections

Vertical spacing: Adding 2U between heat-heavy shelves breaks the direct intake path. We lost four mounting positions in a 24U cabinet but gained stable operation.

Intake baffles: Cardboard prototypes confirmed airflow direction before the operator installed metal baffles. Cost under ₩80,000 in materials.

Exhaust isolation: Separating hot exhaust from cold intake at the cabinet rear panel reduced recirculation by 4°C at the upper intake sensor.

When Duct Rework Is Unavoidable
